This is very dynamic and In-Your-Face. Perhaps a little too in your face at times as looking at all of them together can be a bit overwhelming. (Maybe if a few of them had less cluttered backgrounds, or weren't using the dramatic angles, it would give the viewer a tiny bit more breathing room.) Despite this, I still love them as they are very arresting.

The british designer who tragically ended his life a year ago is already missed among the fashion world and fashionistas. This year's annual ball held in aid of the Costume Institute at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art paid tribute to the work of the late Alexander McQueen.

Below are some of the trends that I spotted celebrities donning to the red carpet event.

Feathers

Celebrities went over board with feathers to honor the late A. McQueen, who we all know had a dear passion for animal inspired garments. Liv Tyler left a trail of them behind her as she kept on shredding away.. As for Demi, she went very British with her hat, possibly her personal tribute to the late designer.

Another hit on the 2011 MET Gala was embroidery to the max. While Blake kept it simple and sexy, Beyonce and Naomi went overboard with their needles. Fergie sexed it up in a lovely hand-embroided dress, while Amy disappointed in her granny-ish dress.

I must note how some made their nude dresses a massive hit, while some kept it simple and chic- ALA CK. I must say I was expecting SJP to be in a tutu or mad tulle, but she kept it low with a nude sequinned straight column dress. As for Ashley and Dakota, WOW!!!

Secret City Hall Station

The City Hall Station on the Interborough Rapid Transit (IRT) line opened in 1904 as a showpiece for the new subway system. Unlike the rest of the line, City Hall featured tall tile arches, brass fixtures, and skylights that ran along the entire curve of the station.The station was closed on December 31, 1945. The skylights were covered over and the station was boarded up. Although it would spend the next few decades closed to the public, the tracks were still used as the turnaround point for the IRT 6 after its final Brooklyn Bridge stop. So while the station was lost to the ages, it was not forgotten.
About a decade ago City Hall Station went through restoration. The idea was that it could serve as a transit museum. Unfortunately there were security concerns about this before September 11, 2001, and after those events, plans to permanently re-open City Hall Station would never happen.

But today there still is a way to see this wonder of the New York underground. The IRT 6 used to make all passengers leave the train at the Brooklyn Bridge stop, but not any longer. Those with a little extra time can stay on the train and view the City Hall Station as it is used as a turnaround. This is a little forgotten piece of New York that makes the city seem a little more intimate.

If I could start all over again in life (well, not actually life, but decorating my home), this time round I would certainly go for colourful, bold nordic designs. However, you may notice that scandinavian items are really, really expensive. and instead of buying a set of 12 dishes or cups, you are only able to buy 2 or 3 at a time..
with shipping and so, its a hassle and very costly..
I was wanting to stock up on stuff, so when we finally decide where to settle down and buy a house, i will bring them all out and surprise my husband. :P

I found a really wonderful European online shop which sells stuff with almost affordable prices, and unique designs..
Instead of me dragging all of the pictures on to my screen- and later on forgetting where the hell they all came from, I will share.... Here we go...

When you hear the term green house in modern times, you will automatically imagine something Earth-saving, but for me, green house has a totally different meaning.

Don't you just look houses that are covered in green!!

Being brought up in England, I got to see wonderful homes and buildings that were literally green, from roof to ground! Now I am in Asia, and seeing green houses is rare, almost imposible! Of course they still exist on mountains and in the jungles, but they are mostly green because they are surrounded by plants, not actually have them growing on it, inside out.

So every time I see a picture or so, I travel back to my childhood.

Thank you Kindai for this lovely shot. I am now living my childhood memories once more!

To the amazement of both, they are unscathed, though their cars are both destroyed. In celebration of their luck, both agree to put aside their dislike for the other from that moment on. At this point, the Englishman goes to the boot and fetches a 12 year old bottle of whisky. He hands the bottle to the Irish man, whom exclaims,'' may the Irish and the English live together forever, in peace, and harmony.'' The Irish man then tips the bottle and gulps half of the bottle down. Hiiihihii... I'm so busy and caught up in my own little mess of colours and fur..

Do any of you own cats, that like to try to join in on your creative work??

My cat cotton loves to drink / step in my paint and then walk across my work. And Linen on the other hand, opts to paint tasting and paint brush chewing. Ughh..

I hate cleaning up their mess but love their nuisance.

Thank God Raymond is being a great husband and giving a real hand when it comes to cleaning up! ;p

Oh, this week I am officially passing 7 months pregnant and carrying a basket ball-sized baggage.

Little Clover seems very eager to pop out any time now. Honestly, I am preparing for her arrival very soon because she just doesn't seem too happy cramped up inside mommy.

Ohhh.,,,,,

Well, lots of changes are going on in my life now and I'm very happy and open handed about it. I wake up every morning with an exciting feeling of what the day has to hold for me...

Hmm,,, Well, I'll continue working on my illustrations and cleaning up the mess that my cats make along the way.

The fabulous British fashion designers, Alexander McQueen and Marc Jacobs for LV have been all over the headlines of the fashion world lately after unveiling their latest shoe fashion trends.

While Alexander went over board with the basic shape and concept of a nice heal, Marc jazzed his up with some lovely pony tails at the back of each of the shoes! Wow!!

Whose would you prefer the most, LV's pony tail heels or Alexander's outrageous to-die-for pieces of art!?

Oh I am so inspired with Geninne D. Zlatkis' online videos.

In this particular video, she is seen carving a hand made stamp of a feather. I must tell you that I never actually knew that it could be done this easily.Hmm... I will probably go shopping at my local craft store later!!

I can't wait to master this skill and start printing stuff non stop! Oh my crazy obsessions!
